CPD unit design and development

CPD Unit Model: It is the part of Life-Long Learning Center and has nominated staff. Trainers trained within the project responsible for staff (academic, administrative and teachers) trainings and one administrative staff responsible for academic staff and teacher support). It is new structural unit under the LLL centre.

CPD Unit Infrastructure: CPD unit has its laboratory equipped with the technics bought within the project.

CPD Unit Budget: No separate budget, it is the part of Teaching University budget, incomes from the faculty. Responsible staff for the implementation of the activities in staff of the Teaching University.

CPD Unit focus: It focuses on academic staff, educational programme development (modification), trainings, support services (for school teachers. Free trainings for them), Quality Assurance Services, professional educational development center, teachers of vocational educational programmes.

CPD Unit objectives
  • policy level: CPD Unit duties and functions are part of LLL center’s regulation rules align of mission, vision and strategic development plan of the Teaching University. Creating working group under the Rector’s order to ensure the successful implementation of the project activities.
  • Functions: Identifying needs and requirements. According to the academic staff survey which was  conducted using LMS system, ZSSU had the necessity of new methods. In response to the staff  needs, Science Office of Teaching University modified the previous catalog of methods and new methods are now included in the catalog using the Learner-Centered Teaching Manual)
  • Information  meetings for staff (academic, administrative, teachers).
  • Support services, conferencies, working on syllabus, modification teaching methodologies, monitoring the process of changes with QA center
  • Dissemination procedures. Uploading mannual for staff on LMS system of ZSSU available for academic staff. Disseminate activities on the teaching university level, regional level for school teachers. Information meeting in EUMM (European Union Monitoring Mission in Zugdidi). University booklet.   • Training: TOT, training for staff to develop training materials.
  • Involvement of the LMS (Learning Management System) for self-evaluation and reflection after lectures. They get feedback from students in order to consider it in the future. Each academic staff is already trained how to use the LMS for assessment.
  • Moodle service, new one in ZSSU. Used for online trainings with staff (in progress).
  • Needs assessment. Quality Assurance Service is responsible for assessment.  

CPD Unit Monitoring System: Quality Assurance Service center which is responsible for the monitoring checks, acts and does the process by using LMS (Leaning Management System). Special questionnaires for students and staff, getting feedback after activities. Interim monitoring conducted by the National Erasmus+ office.
