University of Ruse is an autonomous state-funded higher educational institution with about 10,000 students and 499 highly qualified full-time lecturers. The Faculty of Natural Sciences and Education offers a range of teacher education programmes at BA, MA and PhD level. Strongly student-centred and committed to excellence in its teaching and research. Its high-quality pre- and in-service teacher education and training programmes include a wide range of topics: assessment for learning in the primary and secondary school classroom, implementation of student-focused methods, teaching learners with special needs, etc. Leading role in teacher induction on national and international level.
The Department of Computing – longstanding experience as initiator and coordinator of a number of national & international projects – e.g. “Development of e-Forms for Distance Learning at the University of Ruse”, 4 European thematic networks – European Computing Education and TR Training (ECET), Doctoral Education in Computing (DEC), Teaching, Research and Innovation (TRICE) and Future Education and Training in Computing: How to Support Learning at Anytime Anywhere (FETCH).
