UCC currently enrols approx. 12.000 students in its regular study programmes and approx. 5,500 persons are enrolled in post-graduate/life-long learning programmes.

Johnny Baltzersen

Johnny Baltzersen holds a MPhil and PhD with a focus on educational change and related capacity building. For 24 years JB has worked as project manager and chief consultant/trainer on education development projects (under EUAid, DANIDA and UNESCO) supporting teacher professional development and institutional capacity building in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Since 2002 JB is engaged in introducing and developing action research/learning-through-action as a main strategy and method for teacher professional development in Mongolia (cooperation with Mongolian State University of Education – and University of Exeter 2004-2008) and has conducted more than 40 workshops and seminars on teacher professional development. Since 2015 action research for teacher professional development is also at the core of capacity building in a two-year project with Lhasa Normal College, TAR, China.

Martha Mottelson

Martha Mottelson holds a Masters degree and PhD in Education with focus on the teaching profession, teacher’s skills and professional development. MM has worked in the field of teacher training for the past 20 years and is currently working part time in UCC’s research unit. MM has substantial experience in education development attained through involvement in support and capacity building in Africa and Asia. MM is also engaged in the teacher professional development/capacity building project with Lhasa Normal College, TAR, China.
