Lingnan Normal University

Lingnan Normal University is located in Zhanjiang, the southernmost city in China. As a provincial university it has contributed a lot to the development of the southwest part of Guangdong province.

LNU is known for teacher education and basic learning in both the arts and the sciences. The University has 16 colleges and schools, 3 research centres comprising 56 research institutes. The full-time students are nearly 22000. As a comprehensive four-year university, it offers 59 undergraduate majors (30 majors are teacher education) covering 10 disciplinary categories which include education, history, literature, philosophy, economics, science, engineering, agriculture, management and arts. LNU delivers a variety of teacher education programs at all grade levels and in all content areas. They have degree programs for pre-school education, basic education, vocational and technical education, special education.

LNU promotes broad international exchanges and cooperation with other institutions of higher learning. There are frequent international academic exchanges, professional cooperation, educational training, and students’ cross-cultural exchanges with foreign universities.

Shujie Qu Ph.D, Professor of Comparative Education. Director of Comparative Education Institute. Her research interests include teacher education, vocational education, and higher education. She has published 1 book, 2 translation books, 40 book chapters and papers in journals.

Shide Zhou

Shide Zhou Ph.D., Professor of Education, Vice director of the Teaching Affairs Office, director of Faculty Professional Development Center of Lingnan Normal University. His research area is Curriculum and Instruction, History teaching, and Teacher Education. He has published 2 books, and edited 5 books. His published papers are over 120.

Zhaoxiong Fan

Zhaoxiong Fan Ph.D, Professor of Education, Dean of College of Education in Lingnan Normal University. His main research areas include curriculum culture, teacher education, post-modern moral education theory.  He has published 3 books and more than 50 papers in Chinese influential journals.

Haiming Li

Haiming Li Ph.D, in Agricultural Economics, associate professor of Business School. She has been teaching undergraduate students and has experiences of student-centered teaching. Her research area is agricultural economics, and participated in several research projects.

SSPU

SSPU was founded in 1960. It is a public institution featured by engineering as its main discipline, with synchronized development of multi-disciplines including Economics, Management, Literature, Arts and Sciences.

SSPU covers an area of nearly 800 mu, with 41 professional labs covering 44,000 square meters, advanced teaching and research equipment, and a library of over 1 million printed books and digital books. Liqing Qiao

Liqing Qiao, Associate Professor, Director of International Office, former dean of Faculty of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Polytechnic University. Her research interests are second language acquisition, corpus linguistics, language testing and Intercultural Communication. With the experiences of presiding over projects and administrative management, she will coordinate the implementation of all project activities, in which SSPU is involved.

Jinghui Yang

Jinghui Yang, Professor, Ph.D in Management Science and Engineering of University of Science and Technology Dalian in 2006, the director of the department of industrial engineering in Shanghai Polytechnic University. Her main research is computer application, integration of information system, industrial engineering and teaching methods in engineering. She has published more than 40 papers, finished over 15 the national research or provincial and ministerial projects ,and cooperated with enterprises to access over 10 projects. Her main courses include MIS (Managenent Information System), ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning), EC (Electronic Commerce) etc. She is fluent in spoken and written English.

LiYan

LiYan, Associate Professor, Shanghai Polytechnic University, Visiting Scholar at University of Bridgeport, CT, USA form 2012 to 2013, Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering of University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2007, Expert written and verbal fluency in Mandarin and English , Conversant in Russian , Japanese, he has published more than 20 papers, finished over 5 the national research or provincial and ministerial projects ,and cooperated with enterprises to access over 5 projects. His main courses include OM (Operation Managenent), Management, SE(Systems Engineering) etc.

Zhumin Chen

Zhumin Chen, Associate Professor, Shanghai Polytechnic University, Visiting Scholar at Lakehead University from 2012 to 2013, Ph.D. majoring in Information System Analysis & Designing of Donghua University in 2010. Her main research is computer science and information system designing. She has published more than 15 papers. Her main courses include DSS (Decision Support System), ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning), Computer Network etc. She is fluent in spoken and written English.

JiMin

JiMin, lecturer, received her Ph.D. degree from National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon, France in 2015. In 2016, she returned to China and joined the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering, Shanghai Polytechnic University (SSPU). Now, she works in the information management and information system laboratory. Her research has covered a wide range of areas of the methods to support learners’ self-regulation in learning, learning analysis and behavior modelling, machine learning algorithm and the management information system. She has published 6 papers and participated in several projects. She is proficient in written and spoken English and French.

Wanhe Du

Wanhe Du, assistant Engineer, received his Master Degree from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology in 2015. He is focused on Computer Vision and Mobile Robot. He contributed to the construction of the robot laboratory. He is familiar with kinds of laboratory equipment. He was involved in a number of projects which was cooperated with enterprises. He has published 1 paper. He is fluent in spoken and written English.

Shenzhen Polytechnic is a higher vocational education institution, mainly focusing on the cultivation of applied professional techniques with high standards and qualifications on the front line of production, construction, management and services as well. Founded in 1993, the Polytechnic, today, has five campuses.

Shenzhen Polytechnic  has have over 24,000 full-time students and over 7,100 part-time students. Within SZPT, there are 15 schools which cater to about 70 specialties. The School of Training provides training bases at the national, regional and local level.

SZPT attaches great importance to research. Thier excellence at the research level has been rewarded by winning many prizes at the national and local level and by Polytechnic being ranked first among China ’s vocational colleges in 2004 and 2005.

 The Polytechnic also promotes exchange and cooperation at the international level. It has established long-term and stable cooperative relationships with nearly 120 universities and educational organizations outside of mainland China. For purposes of educational and cultural exchange and cooperation, it receives more than 1,000 visitors from the universities and educational organizations abroad.

Our team consists of 6 members, among whom Professor Zhao Jizheng, the director of International Office of Shenzhen Polytechnic is the team leader and the coordinator. Most of the members in the team have wide experience in managing and doing various research projects and great experience in teaching students of different levels in tertiary educational institutions.

Zhao Jizheng

Zhao Jizheng, PhD(c) is a PhD(c) in Studies of Psycholinguistics and Professor of English language and literature. He has MA in Education and Postgraduate Diploma in English Language Teaching. His research areas include psycholinguistics, applied linguistics and English language teaching methods. One of his research interests is the study of learner-centered teaching method.  He has been leading several relevant projects related to learner-centered teaching method, including cooperative learning in Chinese secondary school, implicit and explicit learning of Language. He has been selected as a review and evaluation expert in some academic projects of provincial level and above. He is experienced in managing, implementing and carrying out academic projects. His main publications cover the areas of implicit learning of language, frequency effect towards language learning, students learning autonomy etc.

Jin Qibin

Jin Qibin, Professor, M.A. in English Language and Literature. He is now a deputy dean in the School of Foreign Languages. He is leading the courses: Intercultural Communication, English Words and Their Cultural Backgrounds. He is also an researcher in grant-funded project "Translation Thoughts of Contemporary Translators in Hong Kong and Taiwan". He has vast experience in intercultural communication research and teaching. His current research interests cover translation, applied linguistics and intercultural communication. His recent publications are all related to the areas mentioned. Professor Jin is now leading a teaching reform program in language teaching in SZPT.

Liu Jianzhu

Liu Jianzhu, PhD (c) in Translation Studies, Professor of English language and literature, Director of Business English Program. He has vast experience in teaching Translation & Culture, Business English and Business Interpreting. His current research interest focuses on the construct and assessment of interpreting aptitude; His recent publications include academic books and text books on interpretation and some academic papers on translation. The Program led by Professor is now a model and key Program in Guangdong Province and National Demonstrative Program.

Cai Min

Cai Min, MA in TESOL is a lecturer of English language and literature. Her research areas include applied linguistics and English teaching methods. She is experience in teaching Chinese Students and foreign students Chinese. She has been successfully coordinated four government-funded exchange Projects of Young People of Mainland China & Hongkong. Her research areas covers teacher management and intercultural communication.

Li Simin

Li Simin, is M.A. in English Language and Literature. She is quite experienced in teaching grammar, IELTS listening and reading. She has done research in applied linguistics, discourse analysis and English teaching materials designing. She has also successfully gotten involved in different cross-cultural exchange program, mainly between Chinese students and overseas students.

Feng Ye

Feng Ye, is a M.A and Lecturer of Comparative Literature. She is quite experienced in teaching foreign students in China. Her researching areas mainly cover teaching methods of cross-cultures students. She in very good at computer programming, project design, data gathering and data analysis. She has been successfully involved in many cultural exchange projects between Chinese students and students abroad.

Liaoning Institute of Science and Engineering established in September, 1999, locates in the city of Jinzhou, Liaoning province.  Currently, the number of full-time undergraduates reaches 5509, with the staff being 534 (both full-time and part-time), among which the one who possess the PHD and Master’s Degree totals 328, and the one who own the professional technical post---professor and associate professor--- totals 245. The departments of the institute are Technology, Economy, Management, Literature, Laws, Pedagogy, and Arts. Under these, 28 undergraduate majors and 13 junior college majors are available.

Under the principle of “teaching-oriented, scientific research-propelled”, the scientific research has been reinforced. Li Surong

MA, Professor. Before serving as the leader in International Education Center, she has been the dean who was in charge of teaching management for as long as 20 years. At the same time, she is also skilful in the research of pedagogy. Working as a dean, she was particularly interested in internal evaluation and quality enhancement of teaching methods and lesson delivery. She used to promote good models of teaching by organizing meetings on the topic of Exchange of Teaching Experience focusing on the student-centered “Three-point” pedagogical method.

Shen Yue

Master’s Degree in English Linguistics, Associate Professor. She is a representative of young teachers in Liaoning Institute of Science and Engineering and proficient in the courses of Intensive English, English and American literature. She has her unique pedagogical methods, and tries to establish learner-oriented teaching process and reforms the evaluation methods.

Feng Haiyan

Bachelor’s Degree,lecturer in the Foreign Languages Department. She has thorough knowledge in the methodological approaches for the development of learner-centered paradigm, and she has considerable experience in the study of student training as a result of leading and coordinating several relevant projects related to learner-centered teaching methods. Besides, she is experienced in managing, implementing and carrying out academic projects. She is responsible for disciplines at College English courses. Her current research interest focuses on the use of learner-centered teaching methods for students with English learning difficulties. She is excellent in interpersonal skills with an adaptable and flexible attitude to work.

She was awarded as the Excellent Teacher of Arts and Science College of Bohai University in 2013 and the Excellent Instructor by Department of Education of Liaoning Province in 2012 and has won the First Prize in the Micro-course Contest held by FLTRP (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press) in 2016.

Cheng Yingxin

Master’s Degree in Cross Culture, Professor. Cheng Yingxin is the dean of College English Department of Bohai University. She is also the tutor of the postgraduates in English methodology majors. She has a solid foundation of English professional teaching skills. She has been an English teacher for twenty-five years and is proficient in the course of college English teaching. She advocates the students-oriented teaching method, and reforms the traditional teacher-centered teaching method by conducting teachers’ training. She regularly arranges teaching discussions and seminars to improve the teachers’ ability in classroom teaching. 

She was awarded as the Outstanding teacher of Bohai university in 2010, the Excellent Teacher of Arts and Science College of Bohai University in 2011 and the Excellent Teacher of Liaoning Province in 2015.

Dai Lu

Master’s Degree in English Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, Associate Professor. She joined Liaoning Institute of Science and Engineering in 2008. The courses she ever offered include Intensive English Reading, Extensive English Reading, Guide to English-Speaking Countries, English Linguistics, etc. She attaches  importance to the classroom teaching efficiency as well as the integration of the students’ main role and the teacher’s leading role. She has always been exploring new ideas and methods in classroom teaching, trying to guide the students to find, to probe into and solve the problems by themselves, so as to cultivate their pioneering spirit and innovative awareness.
